Hi Thomas, this is exciting stuff. I seem to vaguely remember reading about the origins of a Scottish clan had a mythos story about ancestors appearing from the underground.
The idea of people wanting to keep the blood line pure isn't so far fetched. We know the Egyptians practiced this. We also know the Egyptians were deeply mystical and magic was everything to them.
I suspect the establishment of secret societies still may still fancy the idea of a ruling class that could roam the land like a 'Lewisean', judeo Christian God Lion. A kind of rampant Aristocrat mythos maybe?
