''This work is informed by Rottenberg’s interest in new materialisms...a turn away from the dualisms persistent in cultural theory and a reconsideration of the material relationships between human and nonhuman entities''
Nonhuman entities. Sounds like a fun crowd...oh dear.
The picture should be on brochures warning people to wear protection or the object placed in front of a VD clinic. The article saying that it also assaults people by spraying them with water (they tell us) is enough to put up a bio-hazard warning with crime scene tape around it. But the "artist" would probably like that.
Back in the mid-nineties, our local hippy cafe/art gallery presented a series of disturbing paintings by a local "successful" artist that everyone said was obviously abstract renderings of naked women chopped to pieces. The next morning everyone had a laugh that overnight someone had broken into the café and carefully spray painted them all black.
It's horrible.
The artist behind this abomination visited CERN several times as a guest artist in 2018:

She may have received far more than mere artistic 'inspiration' on those trips to the portal...
well, well, well...
In reference to her Spaghetti Blockchain work from 2018: https://arts.cern/commission/mika-rottenberg/

Thanks for sharing, I think.
