What is an NPC and What is a Normie?
The two archetypal pillars upon which the Psychopathic Control Grid stands.
Someone recently asked me the other day to describe what an NPC (Non Playing Character) versus a Normie is and I told them this. I think it is a fairly useful guide:
NPC
"NPCs are people who generally - but not exclusively - lack an internal monologue. They have no complex inner world within their cognition and all their mental focus/processes are exclusively dependent upon external stimuli and influence. They can't actually think about anything in terms of contemplating the overall dynamics of the situation. Everything they align with - along with every opinion they have - or action they undertake is completely dependent upon ideas and situations others have presented to them. In a very real sense they merely exist, but they do not live. When confronted by ideas and information they have not been exposed to before they will be bewildered and confused and often stare blankly. They can actually be very successful in life given circumstances whereby following orders and not being creative are involved."
NPCs would be very much like the Eloi in HG Wells story The Time Machine.
NORMIE
"A Normie would be an individual whose inclinations and opinions are a result of a powerful inner sense surrounding the sheer terror of them not being just like everyone else. The concept of being an individual traumatizes them as they endlessly seek the approval of their peers and superiors as if it is a drug. They raise social norms - irrespective of what they might be - as well as orders given to them by mainstream society as infallible conditions which must be embraced no matter what. When confronted by ideas and information they have not been exposed to before, they will mock, laugh and ridicule the person or entity delivering this new or conflicting information. This ridicule is driven by the need to maintain the present status quo at all costs. As the present status quo is their only means of social integration and survival. In terms of sucess in life they tend to middle ground at the most. As the same fears that prevents from being a rounded-out independent individual, are also the same fears which prevents them from taking risks.
A classic fictional Normie would be Tom Parsons from Orwell’s 1984 who is proud that his own children reported him to the authorities.
