The Ancient Stargate of Sri Lanka

The carvings upon the rock face at Sakwala Chakray hold a strange and mysterious power for those who look upon them

Near the ancient Sri Lankan sacred city of Anuradhapura lies a mysterious megalithic rock art inscription known today as Sakwala Chakraya. Considered by some archaeologists to be at least five thousand years old, this remarkable petroglyph can have a profound impact upon people who find themselves meditating towards the rock art inscriptions and geometry contained on the side of a natural cropping amid a landscape covered in ancient megalithic structures and ruins.

Believed to be a stargate to other realities and dimensions, the Sakwala Chakraya reportedly does have a strange effect over people who behold its mysterious—yet familiar—geometric designs and carvings. It most certainly did have such an affect upon me when I visited the site a few years back.

Located at a place called RanMasu Uyana (Gold Fish Park) and close to Isurumuniya Vihara, the Sakwala Chakraya is roughly three meters in diameter and artistically not dissimilar to a traditional Vedic Mandala. Although the carvings themselves appear to have a lot in common with other petroglyphs which can be found at neolithic-era rock art sites in Europe and elsewhere. Later mythology from the post-Buddhist era of Sri Lanka, states that legendary heroic King Ravana may have had contact with beings living on other worlds and within other dimensions by means of energising the Sakwala Chakraya with specific rites and incantations.

The video below is my report from the location which includes an interesting encounter with a gentleman who had travelled from another part of Sri Lanka to meditate upon the Sakwala Chakraya.
