Someone shared a YouTube video of a German-made documentary about Clannad from 1981- like a different world, with the band ,including a teenage Enya ,travelling the country to concerts in a beat up van. I found myself listening to really early Clannad songs, for days afterwards, throwing me back to when I was a child in the 70s , hearing 'Philib a Cheoil' on RTE Radio 1.

Remember the song as a seven-year old growing up in early 1990's. The video is enchanting too and does make the hairs stand up at certain times!

How strange, my Mum played that album a lot when I was younger. I was never a huge follower of Enya later in life but I found a mash up of her and the Prodigy called 'Smack Up the Orinocco Flow'. This was during the lockdown and I played it continuously. There is something magical about it.

Thomas, very exciting to read your experience with listening to Enya as I feel it explains my recent and on going extreme nostalgic dipping into times in the 70’s especially. Yes, it’s like I’m there and my senses are stronger and more refined than the original experience. And this brings more life into the present moment.

Like yourself I liked Enya back in the 90s however it's only now I'm appreciating her music. Such a feeling of nostalgia which I'm feeling too with many things at the moment ❤

Oh this is a beautiful story - Enya is an extraordinary musician and vocalist, she does all the work on each song. Haunting. Listening to it again transports me to another time and place. Thank you for sharing this.

This is odd, as last month I added ‘Caribbean Blue’ to my main playlist, out of the blue (pun intended) so to speak as she just popped into my head out of nowhere after years of not really thinking about Enya at all. I loved the music video for this tune when it first came out, the portraits coming to life in the mind of the young boy as Enya’s ethereal song played over it. I really miss the ‘90’s in so many ways...

Enya describes a world that was before it was trampled by normies and narcissists. That world of hope, wonder, virtuous desires, and a fruitful future that is imaginable and attainable is easily destroyed by roaming normies/NPCs/narcissists who do not want what's in the song. They cannot relate. It like talking to a beautiful person. They take you places.

Furthermore, we are overwhelmed with disturbances now. Imagine knowing your president is a pedophile and so many people went to Epstein Island and your government wants to enslave you. Disturbing and no longer innocent!
